Zoltán Veres, European Champion stunt-flyer and multiple Guiness recorder again showed his outstanding flying abilities. He amazed nearly 60 thousand (!) spectators with his impressive speed of flying at the Al Ain Aerobatic Show, that took place in the United Arab Emirates. The result of this flawless performance was the highest place of the podium on the first race if the season.

On of the curiosities of the race is that Zoltán Veres flew his MXS type aeroplane for the first time. Based ont he infromation given by the Veres Zoltán Airshow team Zoli will fly this plane this season, so soon the home crowd will also see this outstanding machine.

- The plane with 350HP and only 580kilos gives a fantastic flying experience, and I am proud that it took me to victory from an almost unknown position – stated Zoltán Veres after the race.

The race was close all the way, and 3 competitors were fighting for the honorific prize, Geral Cooper and Mark Jeffers from Great Britain and of course son of our land, Zoltán Veres.

The Aero GP race consisted of three sections: after the classic aerobatic race came the imitated „world war I” air combat, where the planes flying at 450km/h reached points when they were within thirty metres „shooting distance” behind the „adverse” plane. In the closing section even more precisity was recommended, because here the racers had to drop a Coke bottle, temporarily fixed onto the plane’s wing, to a half a square metre area.

The final result of the Al Ain Aero GP: Winner: Veres Zoltán 2nd place: Mark Jefferies 3rd place: Gerald Cooper 4th place : Smokey Young 5th place: Andy Bickmore
