Zoltán Veres, our European Aerobatic Champion has a special attraction in store for the enquirers of aerobatics this year also, as he does year and year on. In the beginning of September he prepared a not everyday production with his stuntman friend, Zoltán Gulyás Kiss, which we hope will get into the Guiness Book of World Records.

Four-five camcorders and a few cameras were focusing on the ramp set on an empty area next to the Korda Stúdió in Etyek. The cameramen and the photo reporters were waiting for the moment. And he arrived, Zoltán Veres appeared in the air in his plane, type Extra-300S. Camcorders began to record, cameras were clacking and the interesting record attempt began. The pilot in the air gave the signal, Zoltán Gulyás Kiss started his motorbike and was getting closer to the ramp with increasing speed, while Zoli Veres was trying to fly between the ramps. The plan is to fly underneath the jumping motorbike. The task is everything but simple. Precise timing is an inevitable part of reaching success, and not least the weather also has to be gracious to these two admirable sportsmen. The two Zolis made an attempt to execute this extremely difficult production on 5 September, but unfortunately the strong wind proved to be a major obstacle. Based on the agreement security is above all, so Friday night the visitors could only enjoy Zoli Veres’s great aerobatic show enriched with pirotechnics, lit by the beams of the sunset.

On Sunday the weather was more gracious to the attempt. The two sportsmen were preparing to execute the production. Zoli Gulyás Kiss warmed himself up on the ramp, later Zoli Veres crossed between the ramps a few times. The helpers steadily stated that it is now time for the record attempt. The plane is getting closer to the ramp, gives the signal, the motorbike starts. The camcorders, the helpers are following the happenings in tense, if they had timed the start of the two sportsmen right. At the first attempt the aerobatic plane arrived to the ramp a bit earlier, at the second one a bit later. After a quick consultation between the land team and the pilot the new timing point is set. The plane approaches the ramp again, the motorbike starts and approaches the josher again and spiritual eyes see its success. And they saw it right. The plan and the motorbike are in the middle of the ramp in the very same moment. The production succeeded, the record attempt succeeded.

The question „will there be a similar idea or will this one have continuation?” popped up not only among people who saw it live but after hearing the news, many.

The idea was drawn two years ago, since then due to technical and other causes the record attempt was delayed, and the practise also took a while. The difficulty was the prceise timing, to make the two vehicles syncronized, as the plane is speeding by 60-70 metres a second, while the motocyclist only floats between the two ramps less then a second. In the future we’d like to involve in the record attempt a car also, so there would be three vehicles in the air. I think it could be executed in 1-2 years. – stated Zoltán Veres after the attempt.

Zoltán Gulyás Kiss and Zoltán Veres trusted the professional preparation and their knowledge, hoped they could execute this production without any problems. This is best proven by the official authentication by the associate of Guiness, who – based on his measures – found out that the distance between the two vehicles was 2 metres and 42 centimetres. Zoltán Gulyás Kiss and Zoltán Veres received the appreciative certificate after the autentication. They are planning to have extreme adventures and Guiness Records together in the future.
