July 1 and 2 – the Grand Aero Challenge air triathlon takes place again in Balatonfüred. The registrations keep on coming in, buti it is now already for sure that the audience visiting the Tagore Promenade will see an exciting contest.

On this extraordinay event the renowned pilots will try a fall with each other with the world’s leading plane types. Last year’s winner, Zoltán Veres will elevate to the air with an MXS. This type is currently th ebest aerobatics plane in the world.

It is rated a curiosity that last year’s runner-up, Nigel Hopkins will fly a two-seated aerobatics aircraft manufactured by MX Aircraft, the MX-2 with listing number N88MX. It will be a great occasion to make a comparison between the properties of the two planes.

The German Extra Flugzeugbau factory’s planes also represent themselves ont he Balatonfüred race. Mark Jeffries English Champion flies an Extra 330SC, Peter Podlunsek Slovenian Champion an Extra 300L, while Frantisek Pytlik races with an Extra 300. The Italian participant of the race Francesco Fornabaio, devotes the type of the plane he is flying ont he air triathlon above the Lake Balaton, a surprise.

Drawing a summary we can conclude that it is a very rare occasion in Hungary where pilots try a fall on each other with such world class aerobaticts aircrafts. Anyone interested which type is better for synchronized flying, balloon hunt and the freestyle flying, shall visit the Tagore Promenade in Balatonfüred on July 1st or 2nd.
